DODA, MAY 22: With India setting the target of elimination of Tuberculosis by 2025 and as a part of AKAM, the Health Department Doda has intensified TB screening by holding special camps and the door to door screening campaign in the District.
The camps are being conducted in each Medical Block of the District to detect hidden pulmonary TB cases in the community and to provide them with nutritional support.
The camps are being personally supervised by CMO, Dr A H Zargar and DTO, Dr Versha Sharma and held under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Doda.
During these camps, the people are sensitized about the mode of transmission, symptoms and treatment of tuberculosis.
They are apprised about prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis and about the TB free India campaign launched by the Prime Minister for total elimination of TB by 2025.
TB screening is an effective method for identifying people who may not otherwise seek treatment due to misinformation or misunderstanding about their symptoms. It helps ensure that TB is diagnosed early and treatment is initiated as soon as possible, reducing the risk of transmission in the community and improving treatment outcomes for the patients.
Screening camps such as these are also effective in raising community awareness about symptoms, prevention and treatment of TB, health off
