SAMBA, MAY 26: Government Degree College Ramgarh today organised an Extension Lecture on ‘Solid Waste Management’ under the ‘Mission LiFE’ and as part of a series of activities being organised to mark the celebrations of World Environment Day.
With due guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, the event was organised by Eco Club and G20 cell to celebrate India’s G20 Presidency and MY COLLEGE MY PRIDE.
Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, emphasized upon the importance of generating awareness amongst the students to equip them with the requisite information to stand against the growing menace of Solid Waste. Further, she said that waste management includes the processes and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal.
Dr. Anjali Bala, Dept. of EVS, in her lecture, discussed the solid waste management process in detail which includes collection, transportation, treatment, analysis and disposal of waste under strict regulations and guidelines.
