BANDIPORA, MAY 29: In order to tackle the issue of illegal extraction of minerals, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Monday chaired a meeting of the Multi-Departmental District Level Task Force Cell (MD-DLTFC), here.
The meeting threadbare discussed the effective strategies and implement measures to curb illegal activities while ensuring the sustainable extraction of minor minerals. Additionally, the meeting also reviewed the revision of rates pertaining to the district.
The meeting discussed challenges posed by illegal mining operations in the district and the DC emphasized the need for a collaborative approach to combat illegal mining, ensuring the preservation of natural resources and the environment.
He underlined the significance of strict enforcement and coordination among the concerned departments. He also stressed the importance of taking immediate action to prevent further damage and preserve the fragile ecosystem of the district.
