MARCH 25:Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma chaired an important meeting to review the progress of Aadhaar enrollment and mandatory biometric updates in Rajouri district. The meeting aimed to assess the effectiveness of the ongoing initiatives and to ensure seamless execution while maximizing public participation in the enrollment process.
At the beginning of the meeting, the District Statistical and Evaluation Officer (DSEO) provided an overview of the Aadhaar enrollment status across various age groups. As of now, the Aadhaar saturation percentage for the 0-5 years age group stands at 38.29%. Additionally, 76.14% of beneficiaries registered at ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) centers have been successfully enrolled. Expressing concern over the low enrollment figures in the 0-5 years category, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to intensify their efforts and adopt measures to ensure the full enrollment of children in this age group.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for accuracy and efficiency in the Aadhaar enrollment process. He instructed the officials to maintain strict supervision and continuous monitoring, ensuring that all eligible citizens receive accurate Aadhaar documentation. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to achieving universal Aadhaar enrollment, stressing the importance of covering every section of society and leaving no one behind.
In addition to reviewing Aadhaar enrollment progress, the meeting also addressed the ongoing Swachh Survekshan activities. Swachh Survekshan is a nationwide urban cleanliness survey aimed at improving sanitation and waste management practices. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the efforts made by local authorities to enhance sanitation conditions and encouraged greater citizen participation and inter-agency coordination to maintain cleanliness across the district.
The DC underscored the importance of visible cleanliness, sustainable sanitation practices, and efficient waste management systems. He urged greater collaboration between municipal bodies, various departments, and stakeholders to ensure effective sanitation measures. The Deputy Commissioner also reassured the officials of the administration’s full support for sanitation initiatives and encouraged community involvement in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Swachh Survekshan evaluates and ranks cities based on their sanitation efforts, providing an opportunity for urban local bodies to adopt innovative waste management solutions for a cleaner environment.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including PO ICDS Fareed Kohli, DSEO Sandeep Sharma, CMO Dr. Manohar Rana, MS GMC&AH Dr. Shamim Ahmed, Tehsildars, CDPOs, and other concerned officers.
