APRIL 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the YUGM Innovation Conclave at Bharat Mandapam, highlighting India’s strides in education and innovation. He announced the inauguration of super hubs at IIT Kanpur and IIT Bombay, focusing on AI, intelligent systems, biosciences, and health.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of modernizing the education system to meet 21st-century needs, referencing the New National Education Policy designed with global standards in mind. He noted the development of AI-based digital education platforms like PM e-Vidya and DIKSHA, facilitating textbook preparation in multiple Indian and foreign languages.
Highlighting the “One Nation, One Subscription” initiative, he mentioned improved access to world-class research journals for students. The Prime Minister also praised the Wadhwani Foundation’s contributions to education and research, acknowledging Shri Romesh Wadhwani’s dedication to fostering positive changes in India’s education system.
PM Modi underscored the role of youth in shaping the nation’s future, stressing the need for a robust research ecosystem and the importance of swiftly transitioning ideas into products. He reiterated the vision of “Make AI in India” and “Make AI work for India,” aiming to position the country as a global innovation hub.
