MAY 08: The Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), in collaboration with Aerospace Services India (ASI) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), successfully held the MRSAM India Eco-System Summit 2.0 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on May 7, 2025. The summit aimed to advance India’s air and missile defence capabilities in line with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives.
The event brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, DRDO, Bharat Electronics Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited, and private defence manufacturers. Discussions centered on enhancing operational readiness, achieving self-reliance in missile systems, and building a resilient defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Key highlights included panel discussions on technological advancements and strategic readiness, alongside showcases of indigenous innovations such as STORMS, an AI-powered service management system developed by ASI. The summit also featured engagements with industry leaders focusing on long-term collaboration and local production of advanced missile systems.
A significant aspect of the summit was the emphasis on the ASI-IAI joint initiative’s contributions to the Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) programme. Their fully owned Indian subsidiary supports the life-cycle management, technical integration, and local manufacturing of systems including the BARAK 8 missile and Air Defence Fire Control Radar.
The summit reaffirmed India’s commitment to becoming a global defence manufacturing hub through strategic partnerships, innovation, and indigenous capability development.
