APRIL 24: The Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls for Assembly Constituencies 27-Budgam and 77-Nagrota, which commenced on April 8, 2025, is set to conclude on April 24. As part of this electoral process, citizens are being urged to actively participate and verify their details in the electoral rolls before the deadline.

Following the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) of both constituencies have meticulously compiled the lists of claims and objections. These lists are essential to ensure that all eligible voters are correctly enrolled and that inaccuracies or outdated entries are appropriately addressed.

The lists have been prepared in the prescribed Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A, and 11B. They reflect applications received for the inclusion of new names, deletion of ineligible entries, corrections to existing details, and the transposition of voter information within the constituency. This is a critical phase of the electoral roll revision that allows every eligible voter to confirm or correct their voter registration status.

In an effort to enhance transparency and ensure wide accessibility, the prepared lists have been prominently displayed at the notice boards of the respective ERO offices. Additionally, for the convenience of the public, the lists are available online at the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir: www.ceo-jk@nic.in.

The Chief Electoral Officer has made a strong appeal to all voters of Assembly Constituencies 27-Budgam and 77-Nagrota to go through these lists thoroughly. This review will help in verifying the correctness of entries and identifying any discrepancies that may require immediate correction.

Citizens who wish to raise objections or submit claims regarding the electoral roll entries can do so by contacting the concerned EROs of their respective constituencies. The CEO has reiterated that active public participation is crucial not just for individual voter accuracy, but also for upholding the sanctity and credibility of the democratic process.

Voters are encouraged to take this opportunity seriously and ensure their rightful presence on the electoral rolls before the revision period ends.
