DC Jammu Reviews Girdawari Registration, Stresses Transparency and Accountability

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, today conducted an inspection of the ongoing Girdawari registration process in Tehsils Arnia and Bishnah to ensure transparency and efficiency in public service delivery.

He was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh and Chief Executive Officer of Jammu & Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA), Rupesh Kumar, who also serves as Director Social Welfare Jammu.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the Girdawari entries and underscored the need for maintaining strict accuracy and transparency in the documentation process. He directed field staff to adhere to established protocols to uphold public trust.

In a surprise check, CEO JaKeGA, Rupesh Kumar, identified a case of overcharging by a Common Services Centre (CSC) operator. Taking immediate action, he suspended the license of the concerned CSC, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to fair practices.

Deputy Commissioner Vaishya stressed that any irregularities would attract strict action and reiterated the importance of maintaining accountability at all levels. He urged the field functionaries to remain vigilant and ensure that the benefits of governance initiatives reach the citizens without any malpractice.

The inspection reflected the administration’s proactive approach in safeguarding citizen interests and strengthening transparency in revenue processes.
