SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 23: The Director Horticulture Kashmir, G. R. Mir today visited district Kupwara and took stock of the functioning of Fruit Plant Nursery, Chougal, Handwara and also attended an awareness camp.
The camp was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer Kupwara, District Horticulture Officer, Kupwara and other officers of the department besides representatives of PRIs and a good number of farmers.
On the spot awareness was given about the beneficiary oriented and self-employment schemes of the Horticulture Department.
Further a special session was held to demonstrate the pruning and training of high-density apple orchards.
Later, the Director Horticulture visited Panchayat halqa Chanigam-A, Sogam, where he was Visiting Officer during the Back to Village-IV (B2V4) programme and has now been designated as Prabhari Officer for the said panchayat for a period of one year.
