Director Youth Services and Sports Felicitates Roller Hockey Silver Medalists

22 April, 2025: S. Rajinder Singh Tara (JKAS), Director of Youth Services and Sports, honored the Roller Hockey team that clinched the Silver Medal at the 2nd Inter-District National Championship held in Dhelpur, Mohali from April 13–17, 2025. The felicitation ceremony celebrated the team’s commitment, performance, and contribution to the region’s growing sports culture.

The silver-medal winning team comprised Jugraaj Singh, Jatin Sabarwal, Ankush Gupta, Rupinder Paul Singh, Darpan Gargotra, and Aryan Gupta—players whose outstanding efforts were instrumental in the team’s success at the national level.

In addition to this achievement, five athletes were selected to participate in the inaugural Roller Hockey Premier League (April 10–17, 2025), a major event that drew top talent from across the country. Jugraaj Singh, Jatin Sabarwal, and Darpan Gargotra played for Team Kashmir Warriors, securing a Bronze Medal. Rupinder Paul Singh represented the champion team, Chandigarh Champs, while Ankush Gupta showcased impressive skills with Team Bombay Rockers.

Commending the players, Director Tara praised their discipline, teamwork, and dedication. “These athletes have made the region proud. Their hard work and determination set a shining example for upcoming sportspersons,” he remarked.

The department reiterated its commitment to nurturing youth talent and promoting sports at all levels, encouraging the players to aim higher on national and international stages.
