District-Level CRS Sensitization Workshop Conducted at ANMT School

APRIL 25: A one-day training-cum-sensitization workshop on the Civil Registration System (CRS) was held at ANMT School Ramban, aimed at strengthening the district’s mechanisms for the timely and accurate registration of births and deaths. The session was organized under the direct supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kamal Jee Zadoo, who also serves as the District Registrar of Births and Deaths, and District Statistical & Evaluation Officer Ganesh Kumar, acting as the Additional District Registrar.

The workshop was attended by Block Medical Officers (BMOs), Medical Officers (MOs), and other allied health staff from various parts of the district. The goal of the session was to improve the participants’ knowledge and practical abilities in the proper recording, documentation, and digital uploading of birth and death data.

The training placed special emphasis on the importance of timely and accurate registration of vital life events. Speakers at the event highlighted that effective civil registration is not only essential for governance and planning but also for citizens to access vital government services, legal documentation, and welfare benefits.

Participants were educated on the legal framework, technical procedures, and data management practices under the CRS. Discussions covered real-world scenarios, challenges in remote areas, and the role of frontline healthcare workers in ensuring proper data flow from rural health centers to the central database.

CMO Dr. Kamal Jee Zadoo underscored the critical role of accurate and complete data in enabling evidence-based policy-making and improving public health outcomes. He also encouraged health professionals to adopt proactive and responsible practices in maintaining CRS records.

Ganesh Kumar, while addressing the gathering, focused on transparency, accountability, and the statistical value of accurate civil registration. He reiterated that quality data collection forms the backbone of developmental planning and social welfare delivery.This capacity-building effort marks a significant step towards improving administrative efficiency and transparency in Ramban district. By empowering healthcare professionals with essential knowledge, the district is advancing toward a robust, reliable, and people-centered civil registration system.
