MARCH 20:Dr. Parvinder Singh, Director of Animal Husbandry Jammu, chaired a meeting at the Directorate of Animal Husbandry in Talab Tillo, Jammu, to review the progress of various ongoing projects under the capital expenditure (capex), HADP, CSS, and NABARD for the current financial year. The meeting was attended by the Chief Animal Husbandry Officers of Jammu Division, Deputy Director Planning, Extension Officer Publicity Wing Jammu, and the Technical Officer of the Directorate.
The primary focus of the meeting was to review both physical and financial achievements under the CAPEX, HADP/JKCIP, and CSS budgets. The Director also discussed various other important issues such as the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP), National Agriculture Innovation Programme (NAIP), and the documentation of success stories to highlight the achievements of the department.
Dr. Parvinder Singh emphasized the need for swift utilization of allocated funds and stressed that all projects must be completed in a time-bound manner. He highlighted the importance of creating high-quality assets that will provide a significant boost to rural development and contribute to increasing farmers’ incomes. He further noted that the efficient use of funds and the creation of lasting infrastructure are vital for the success of the department’s initiatives.
During the meeting, the Director conducted a district-wise review of the expenditures made under various projects and asked the officers to ensure that the benefits of these schemes and projects reach the intended beneficiaries on the ground. He called on the officers to improve efficiency at every level and ensure that all projects progress as planned.
The officers briefed Dr. Singh that the works are progressing at a brisk pace in every district, and most of the targets are expected to be completed within the stipulated timeframe. The Director expressed satisfaction with the progress but urged the officers to keep up the momentum and adhere to deadlines to ensure that all planned activities and goals are accomplished effectively.
Dr. Singh’s call for ensuring timely implementation and accountability in utilizing resources underscores the department’s commitment to enhancing rural development and providing significant benefits to farmers across the region. With the focused attention on quality, efficiency, and accountability, the Animal Husbandry Department aims to strengthen its efforts towards the development of Jammu’s rural economy.
