APRIL 6: Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, today chaired the maiden review meeting with senior officials and Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of Jammu Division to assess the implementation of various intervention schemes and educational components across the districts.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Chowdhary emphasized the need to ensure academic excellence in government schools by aligning efforts with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He called for the timely and effective implementation of NEP recommendations, stressing that schools must incorporate experiential and inquiry-based learning practices. The Director also underlined the importance of integrating technology in teaching methods to enhance learning outcomes and digital literacy among students.
The meeting covered a wide range of issues related to Human Resource Management, including concerns regarding Rehbar-e-Taleem (RETs), Contingent Paid Workers, the timely conduct of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), and the matter of one-time exemption for staff who acquired higher qualifications without prior permission. Dr. Chowdhary issued clear directions for prompt action and resolution of these issues.A key focus of the discussion was ensuring the availability of basic infrastructure in all government schools. The Director directed all CEOs to verify and ensure functional drinking water, electricity, and toilet facilities in their respective schools to create a healthy and inclusive learning environment.
Other significant matters discussed included teacher training modules, student performance tracking, pending court cases, and the establishment and development of kindergartens to build a strong foundation at the pre-primary level.
The Director reiterated the department’s commitment to raising academic standards and ensuring that quality education is accessible to all students. He encouraged the officers to work collaboratively and address challenges proactively. CEOs presented updates on the current status of schools, faculty, and students, highlighting both achievements and concerns specific to their districts.
Dr. Chowdhary appreciated the dedicated efforts of the education officers and urged them to remain focused on the vision of transforming the education landscape in Jammu Division. “We are committed to providing a strong educational foundation for our students. Every officer must work diligently to ensure effective service delivery and transparent governance,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Subah Mehta and Mr. Dhirender Sharma (Joint Directors, SED), Ms. Manisha (Personal Officer), Ms. Monika Bhandari (CAO DSEJ), Mr. D.P. Chibber (Sr. Law Officer), Deputy Director Mr. Anjum Aga, along with all CEOs from Jammu Division.
