APRIL 26: In a major step towards strengthening educational innovation, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Divisional Office, Jammu, successfully organized a workshop and training session for Heads of Institutions under the Oasis Jyotirdhar Initiative, Phase-3. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Department of School Education and SCERT Jammu and Kashmir.
The workshop was chaired by Shantmanu, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Education, who also inaugurated an exhibition featuring an extensive range of curriculum enrichment materials developed by SCERT Jammu Division. The exhibition showcased academic documents, books, and innovative educational aids, reflecting SCERT’s progressive journey in academic excellence.
During his address, ACS Shantmanu praised SCERT’s visionary efforts in enhancing educational practices. He emphasized the need for educators to stay updated with evolving pedagogical trends and adapt through continuous learning and innovation to meet the needs of the dynamic educational environment.
Dr. Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director, SCERT, shared insights into the vision and objectives of the Oasis Jyotirdhar Initiative. She stressed the importance of collaborative learning models, the adoption of innovative teaching methodologies, and the development of inclusive academic resources to promote quality education for all learners.
A key highlight of the event was the release of two strategic documents: the “Syllabus cum Academic Planner 2025-26” and the “BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) Vision Document.” These resources aim to support improved pedagogical practices and infrastructure-driven learning across schools. The academic planner was crafted by the dedicated Assessment Cell team, including Ranjeet Singh Manhas, Rakesh Chobber, Dr. Nazneen Mehraj, and Dr. Saima Qadir. Significant contributions to the BaLA Vision Document were made by academic officers Manisha Chun and Parshotam Singh.
Tina Vasudeva, Chief Coordinator of the Oasis Movement, provided a comprehensive overview of the workshop, highlighting its key themes, participatory engagement strategies, and expected outcomes.
The feedback session featured reflections from Anwar Khan, Principal of GHSS Sawjian Poonch, and Kiran Bhadwal, Principal of GHSS Camp Nagrota Jammu, who shared their perspectives on the learning impact and module effectiveness.
Concluding the event, Mehul Panchal, Project Lead for Oasis Movement, underscored the importance of fostering pedagogical agility, embracing design thinking in education, and cultivating vibrant learning ecosystems. She commended SCERT for its unwavering commitment to educational innovation.
