MARCH 19: The N-CORD Committee of the Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu, organized a symposium focused on the topic “Tobacco and Its Ill Effects,” aiming to raise awareness about the detrimental impact of tobacco on both health and society. The event served as a platform for students and staff to engage in meaningful discussions about the risks of tobacco use and the importance of leading a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle.

The program was graced by Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal of the college, who delivered an inspiring address. She emphasized the significance of staying away from tobacco and highlighted how making healthier choices contributes to long-term well-being. Dr. Parihar’s words encouraged the students to be more mindful of their health and adopt habits that lead to a better quality of life.

In the competitive segment of the symposium, Sayushi emerged victorious, securing the 1st position, while Shiwali and Meenali claimed the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. Nandani Sharma recited a powerful poem that resonated with the audience, urging them to take a stand against tobacco use. Similarly, Shivani Thakur captivated the crowd with an impressive shayari presentation, which creatively conveyed the harmful effects of tobacco in a poetic manner.
