JUNE 04: At the 8th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction held in Geneva on June 3, 2025, Dr. P K Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, reiterated India’s strong commitment to building global disaster resilience. Representing India on the international stage, Dr. Mishra emphasized that the country remains fully dedicated to advancing preparedness and risk mitigation in collaboration with global partners.

During the high-level event, Dr. Mishra engaged in meaningful discussions with Ms. Stine Renate Håheim, the Deputy Minister for International Development of Norway. Their dialogue centered on the urgent need for continued international collaboration to reduce disaster-related risks and promote sustainable development. Both leaders acknowledged the growing impact of climate-induced disasters and reaffirmed the need for shared strategies, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building efforts across borders.

Dr. Mishra also took part in the opening ceremony of the UN-hosted platform, where he highlighted India’s active and forward-thinking stance on disaster preparedness.
