APRIL 29:
Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Dr. Devansh Yadav, conducted a field visit to assess the ongoing street light repair and maintenance work being carried out by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) across Jammu city.
Dr. Yadav inspected several locations and engaged directly with residents who had lodged complaints through the official online portal. He evaluated the resolution of these issues and the responsiveness of the repair teams.
Expressing concern over the slow pace of work, the Commissioner issued strict instructions to JMC’s electric wing and EESL personnel to expedite repairs. He emphasized the critical importance of functional street lighting in preventing nighttime incidents and ensuring public safety.
To address existing gaps, Dr. Yadav directed EESL to supply an additional 5,000 street lights. Additionally, he announced the installation of 850 high-intensity 190-watt lights in poorly lit areas to enhance visibility and safety.
Reaffirming his commitment to a well-illuminated Jammu, Dr. Yadav stressed that reliable street lighting is essential for improving both civic security and residents’ quality of life.
