MAY 02: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Jammu and Kashmir, concluded its one-month internship programme for students of the Central University with a brief yet meaningful ceremony.
The programme, designed to provide students with real-world exposure to the workings of government communication and media operations, involved practical training in content development, public relations strategies, and media management. Interns were given the opportunity to observe and participate in various functions of the department, enhancing their understanding of communication frameworks within the public sector.
Director Information, Nitish Rajora, presided over the concluding ceremony and felicitated the interns for their active involvement and dedication throughout the internship. He acknowledged the interns’ enthusiasm and appreciated their willingness to learn and contribute.
Addressing the gathering, Rajora encouraged the students to continue exploring the dynamic and ever-evolving fields of media, communication, and public engagement. He emphasized that such internship programmes play a vital role in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world professional environments. “These experiences prepare students to better understand how theoretical knowledge translates into practical work in public service communication,” he remarked.
The students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the DIPR for organizing the internship and providing them with an enriching and inspiring platform. They spoke about their experience in terms of skill development, professional exposure, and the insights gained into public information dissemination.
The internship also fostered a deeper understanding of how governmental narratives are crafted, reported, and managed, equipping students with practical tools for future career paths in journalism, public relations, and communication.
DIPR reiterated its commitment to nurturing young talent through structured internship programmes and educational collaborations. The Directorate emphasized its ongoing support for youth-focused initiatives aimed at enhancing employability and professional readiness in media-related fields.
Such programmes reflect the government’s broader goal of empowering students by connecting them with practical learning environments and building a more skilled, informed youth workforce.
