MAy 21: In a key review meeting held at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) office in Srinagar, Director Information J&K, Nitish Rajora, took stock of the preparations underway for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The meeting brought together officers and media coordinators to assess readiness and ensure that all arrangements are progressing as per schedule.
During the session, Director Rajora emphasized the critical need for seamless inter-departmental coordination to guarantee a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience for devotees. With thousands of pilgrims expected to visit the holy shrine, he underlined that every department must work in complete synergy to avoid any lapses during the Yatra period.
A special focus was placed on the timely installation of Public Address Systems (PAS) along key routes and camp locations. Rajora instructed the concerned officials to ensure that PAS equipment is deployed well ahead of the commencement of the Yatra so that it can be tested and operationalized for effective communication with pilgrims, particularly in case of emergencies or important advisories.
In addition, the Director reviewed the progress on installing hoardings and information boards at strategic points along the Yatra route. These are intended to guide pilgrims and provide them with critical information about routes, weather alerts, medical camps, and safety measures. He directed officials to ensure that these hoardings are informative, clearly visible, and reflect the spirit of hospitality for which Jammu and Kashmir is known.
Publicity and awareness were also major themes during the meeting. Rajora stressed the importance of a robust and well-planned publicity strategy to disseminate accurate information about the Yatra guidelines, facilities, and safety protocols through both traditional media and digital platforms. He encouraged the use of regional languages and visual content to ensure inclusivity and greater reach.
He concluded the meeting by calling for a proactive approach, continuous monitoring, and prompt resolution of any logistical challenges. He reiterated that the collective aim must be to provide a spiritually enriching, safe, and seamless pilgrimage experience for every Yatri.
The meeting marked a significant step toward fine-tuning the preparations for one of the most revered annual pilgrimages in India.
