JUNE 12: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed members of the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) at the “Rally for the Valley” event held in Srinagar, underscoring his administration’s continued commitment to strengthening Jammu and Kashmir’s position as a premier travel destination.
The event brought together key stakeholders from India’s travel and tourism industry, with the aim of promoting J&K’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and unique travel experiences. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the transformative role tourism plays in the region’s economic and social development.
Omar Abdullah expressed his gratitude to TAAI for organizing the event in Srinagar, noting that such initiatives significantly contribute to rebuilding confidence in the tourism sector and showcasing the peaceful environment prevailing in the Valley. He emphasized that his government is actively working to enhance infrastructure, improve safety, and expand hospitality services to ensure that tourists have a seamless and memorable experience.

The event concluded with discussions on potential partnerships, marketing strategies, and capacity-building for local tourism service providers, all aimed at rejuvenating tourism in the region.
