MAY 08: Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a courtesy visit to the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The visit gains special significance as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Iran.
President Murmu extended a warm welcome to Dr. Araghchi and expressed appreciation for his visit during such a momentous occasion. She emphasized the deep-rooted and time-honored relationship between the two nations, which has evolved over millennia. During the meeting, President Murmu also expressed her gratitude to the government of Iran for conveying their heartfelt condolences and support in the aftermath of the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, reaffirming the shared stance of both nations against terrorism.
She conveyed optimism that Dr. Araghchi’s visit would help further solidify the strategic and friendly relations between the two countries.
