KULGAM, NOVEMBER 02: As part of the ongoing activities under Back to Village-4 (B2V4), Private Secretary in Department of Culture, Farooq Ahmad Banday visited Panchayat Halqa Okey of Kulgam district and participated in the B2V4 programme.
The Private Secretary who is designated Visiting Officer for the Panchayat Halqa, took stock of all the developmental issues and needs of the locals there.
During his visit, the officer interacted with the locals and took onspot feedback from them regarding status of implementation of various government schemes in their respective area. He asked the locals to take part in B2V4 enthusiastically as it will address the long developmental needs of their area.
While interacting with the people, the visiting officer outlined the essence of ‘Back to Village’ Programme saying that the main motive behind this people friendly initiative is to ensure that not even a single person is deprived of the benefit of development schemes. He said that Government’s ambitious outreach programme intends to enable people to voice their issues more freely at their doorsteps.
On this occasion, the officer also distributed Land Passbooks and sanction letters among the beneficiaries of various schemes. He also kick started plantation drive in the premises of Government High School Okey, Kulgam. The officer also inaugurated sports event in the school.
Among others, officers and officials of various line departments, PRI representatives, large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
