Ramban Administration Speeds Up Restoration and Relief Efforts in Flood-Hit Areas

APRIL 26:
The District Administration Ramban, led by Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, has accelerated restoration and relief operations in areas affected by recent flash floods. Emphasis is being placed on restoring essential services, link roads, and ensuring the steady supply of basic necessities.

The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by SSP Traffic Raja Adil Hamid, inspected the Ramban-Banihal stretch of NH-44, focusing on vulnerable points to monitor traffic management and ensure commuter safety. Drivers were urged to adhere to lane discipline to prevent congestion and maintain smooth traffic flow.

DC Chaudhary also reviewed progress on the Maroge-Balihot link road and directed departments to expedite the repair of all damaged infrastructure. To support workers involved in these efforts, free meals are being served through a langar set up by the administration, with ACR and AD FCS&CA overseeing operations.

In the flood-hit zones, fumigation and smoke drives are underway to mitigate health risks and curb the spread of diseases. Assessment teams, including field staff and local Lambardars, are actively surveying damages to ensure timely relief and compensation.

In a reassuring development, Anganwadi centres have reopened, and students have returned to school, reflecting the gradual return to normalcy.

The administration, in coordination with various departments, continues to prioritize the rehabilitation of affected families, reaffirming its commitment to swift recovery and public welfare in the aftermath of the natural calamity.
