MAY 03: A meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) was held at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, to assess and enhance patient care services. The meeting was chaired by MLA Bahu and RKS Chairman, Vikram Randhawa, and attended by Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. Harbaksh Singh; Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr. Balvinder Singh; and representatives from departments including PWD, PDD, PHE, AYUSH, Information, and ICDS.
Eminent members such as Dr. Sunita Puri, ex-corporator Rahul, and Akhill, along with hospital staff including Dr. Sanjeev, Dr. Poonam Manyal, and Dr. Ruchita Mahajan, also participated in the review. Key issues discussed included upgrading hospital infrastructure, enhancing amenities for unattended patients, enforcing staff dress codes, and addressing the shortage of medical personnel in various departments.
The meeting emphasized the hospital’s pivotal role in catering to both urban and rural populations in Jammu and the need to bolster healthcare services to meet public demand effectively. Patient safety protocols and quality improvement initiatives were discussed extensively.
Following the meeting, the Chairman conducted a comprehensive tour of the hospital, inspecting the Pediatrics Ward, OPD Block, Blood Bank, Maternity Ward, and MICU. He interacted with patients and attendants to gather feedback and praised the efforts of hospital staff in maintaining quality care. He urged the staff to continue working with dedication and enthusiasm to uphold high standards of patient care.
The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Balvinder Singh, acknowledging the presence and contributions of all dignitaries and stakeholders.
