JUNE 04: Minister Sakeena Itoo undertook a comprehensive tour of the Pampore Constituency to assess key facilities and review developmental progress across the health and education sectors. Her visit underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening grassroots governance and improving essential services.
As part of her visit, the minister inaugurated a new Dialysis Unit at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Pampore. The addition of this facility is expected to significantly enhance healthcare access for patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases in the area, reducing the need to travel to distant hospitals for treatment.
Following this, she inspected the functioning of the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kakapora, where she interacted with medical staff and patients. She took note of existing challenges and assured timely improvements, while urging healthcare workers to maintain efficiency and patient care standards.
In the education sector, Minister Itoo visited the Government Degree College (GDC) Pampore, where she launched the institution’s first newsletter, titled “Shakh-e-Zafran.” The publication aims to highlight academic achievements, community engagement, and cultural activities undertaken by the college. She appreciated the initiative and encouraged faculty and students to continue striving for academic excellence.
In addition, the minister reviewed preparations for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival. She held discussions with local officials to ensure smooth arrangements, especially related to sanitation, public safety, and availability of essential commodities. She emphasized that all departments must coordinate effectively to ensure a peaceful and joyous festival for the public.
Throughout the tour, Sakeena Itoo reiterated the importance of timely completion of public projects and enhancement of service delivery. She emphasized that accessible healthcare, quality education, and efficient public administration are cornerstones of good governance.
