JAMMU, DECEMBER 10: Union Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Food and Public Distribution, Shantmanu, today reviewed working and performance of FCS&CA department here at civil secretariat, Jammu.
He asked the officers to serve the consumers in a complete professional manner so that they don’t face any inconvenience.
Director FCS&CA Jammu, Naseem Javaid; Director Finance FCS&CA, Romesh Singh; Additional Secretary FCS&CA, Jugal Kishore Anand; GM FCI, HS Dhaliwal and other officers of Union Ministry of Food and Public Distribution and FCS&CA were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on supply position, status of Aadhar Seeding, market checking, online transaction and POS, ONORC transactions, deletion of bogus ration card and other points.
Afterwards, he took status of the ePoS devices installed in Jammu division, wherein he was informed that these devices have been installed in 2889 outlets and distribution process has been fully automated. He was also informed that 2716 POS devices are working in online mode and 173 devices are working through offline mode.
Shantmanu was also informed that Aadhar authenticated transactions on real time basis is 94.01 percent. Giving details of the bogus beneficiaries removed, he was apprised that approximately 1.87 lakh bogus beneficiaries have been removed from the portal.
Regarding savings of the food grains, he was told that the savings is 0.78 lakh MTs in the year 2021-22.
Seeking status of ration cards under NFSA, he was informed that there are 752065 ration cards under NFSA. He also reviewed progress under Aadhar seeding of ration cards of NFSA and Non NFSA beneficiaries wherein he was informed that the Aadhar seeding is hundred percent in all categories.
While taking note of the One Nation One Ration card scheme, he was apprised that 12236 ONORC transactions have been made till date. He was also informed that 1444 ONORC transactions have been made in the month of November this year.
While addressing the meeting, Shantmanu urged the upon the officers to work with zeal and enthusiasm to improve overall functioning of the department and provide timely ration supplies to the public at their doorsteps.
Elaborating the Government’s achievements, Shantmanu said, ‘The Government is spending large amount of money to ensure food security of the public.
Union Additional Secretary lauded the One Nation One Ration Card scheme saying that this initiative has enabled migratory workers, seasonal labour among all other citizens to get ration at any place in the country.
He appreciated the J&K Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department for achieving 100 percent Aadhar seeding and other milestones within short time. He also appreciated the department for promoting the use of PDS data base for Ayushman Bharat verification in J&K.
Later, Shantmanu also inspected FCI Godown Chatha and asked the officers to ensure that only quality ration is being supplied/provided to the consumers.
During the tour, Union Additional Secretary also visited Fair Price shops where the team thoroughly checked all the parameters governing the FPS. He appreciated the efforts made by the department in transforming FPS and also gave suggestions to enhance beneficiary experience.
While interacting with the beneficiaries at the fair price shops, Shantmanu enquired about the ration distribution process.
The public appreciated the department for introducing Aadhar enabled distribution saying that the system has brought more transparency and accountability in the distribution process and they are getting ration supply timely and in a hassle free manner.
