MARCH 1 : To ensure the cleanliness of the sacred ghats following the massive congregation at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Transport Minister Satish Sharma today flagged off a special bus service from Jammu to Prayagraj. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to preserve the sanctity of the ghats after the grand religious event.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Satish Sharma highlighted the significance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in our surroundings, irrespective of the occasion. He emphasized that cleanliness should be a continuous priority, especially at religious sites that attract large crowds. The special bus service, which was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC), aims to assist in the cleanup of the ghats, which have been left with significant waste following the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh.
The Minister pointed out that the cleanliness drive would focus on the various locations of the Maha Kumbh, particularly the ghats, to ensure they are kept free from garbage and litter. This initiative is a part of a broader effort to maintain the sanctity of the sacred sites and ensure a respectful and hygienic environment for devotees.
Satish Sharma expressed his appreciation for the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC), which not only launched the special bus service to Prayagraj but also took on the responsibility of cleaning the ghats. He praised the corporation for its noble initiative to contribute to the post-event cleanup and highlighted the importance of such community-driven efforts to preserve religious and cultural heritage.
The flagging off of the special bus service reflects a strong commitment from the Jammu and Kashmir government to support initiatives that promote cleanliness, sustainability, and public welfare, especially in the context of major religious events like the Maha Kumbh. It is a demonstration of how public services can be mobilized to contribute to the larger cause of environmental preservation and community well-being.
The special bus service will ensure that the cleanup efforts are carried out efficiently, with the focus on restoring the sacred ghats to their original pristine condition. The initiative will not only contribute to the overall cleanliness of the area but will also help in fostering a sense of responsibility among devotees and the general public towards maintaining cleanliness at religious and cultural sites.
