APRIL 20: Dr. Devansh Yadav, the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), visited Trikuta Nagar today to address several pressing civic issues raised by the local Welfare Society. This visit is part of JMC’s ongoing efforts to ensure responsive governance and improve the quality of life for residents in Jammu.

During the visit, members of the Welfare Society brought attention to various local concerns affecting daily life. One of the major issues highlighted was the poor drainage system, particularly during the monsoon season, which often leads to water-logging in the area. The residents expressed their concerns about the need for better drainage management to avoid flooding and ensure smooth flow of rainwater.

In addition to drainage problems, the Welfare Society members also raised issues related to the cleanliness of the area and the non-functioning street lights that further contributed to the challenges faced by the community. They emphasized the importance of timely waste management and functioning streetlights for the safety and convenience of residents, particularly during the night.

Dr. Yadav responded positively to the grievances, assuring the residents that their concerns would be taken seriously and addressed on a priority basis. He issued on-the-spot instructions to officials from the concerned departments to take immediate action on resolving the drainage, sanitation, and lighting problems. He emphasized the need for prompt measures to prevent water-logging and ensure a cleaner, safer environment for the residents of Trikuta Nagar.

The visit is a reflection of JMC’s commitment to responsive and accountable governance, as the Commissioner actively engaged with the community to understand their needs and concerns. Dr. Yadav’s proactive approach underscores the administration’s determination to improve the civic infrastructure and overall living conditions in the city.

Accompanying Dr. Yadav during the visit were various senior officers from the Zonal Commissioner (ZC) office, who assisted in assessing the issues on the ground and evaluating possible solutions. The visit was well-received by the local residents, who appreciated the timely attention given to their concerns.

Through this visit, JMC continues its efforts to foster a cooperative relationship with the public and address key civic challenges that directly impact the daily lives of residents in Jammu.
