April 19: The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) has unveiled the Top 50 digital poster winners from its Film Poster Making Challenge, celebrating creativity and innovation in visual storytelling. Out of 542 digital entries from across India, the selected posters highlight fresh talent and original narratives. A jury of renowned experts, including photographer Aditya Arya and artist Ananda Moy Banerji, shortlisted the final 50 from an initial pool of 197 designs.

Three standout finalists—Saptosindhu Sengupta, Shivangi Sarmah Kashyap, and Suresh D Nair—have also been named, with their final rankings to be announced at the WAVES Summit in Mumbai from May 1–4, 2025. All top 50 posters will be showcased digitally at the event, providing artists with a high-profile platform for exposure.

In parallel, 10 student artists have been selected to participate in a Live Hand-Painted Film Poster Making Competition at the summit. This segment pays homage to the traditional art form once central to Indian cinema, celebrating its cultural legacy. Winners will be recognized for their artistic excellence during the live competition.

Organized by the Government of India, the first edition of WAVES aims to position India as a global hub for creative industries, spanning film, animation, gaming, digital media, and emerging technologies. The summit offers networking, collaboration, and investment opportunities for professionals across the media and entertainment landscape.
