International Labour Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Kandhari Beverages, Samba, in a joint event organized by the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner and the management of the beverage company. The event acknowledged the critical contributions of workers to the district’s economic and industrial development.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma, and ADDC Champa Thakur led the celebration by felicitating employees for their dedication and service. Addressing the gathering, the DC highlighted the essential role of the workforce in shaping the economy and reiterated the administration’s commitment to protecting labour rights and ensuring their welfare.
A key feature of the celebration was a free medical camp organized by the Department of AYUSH in collaboration with the Labour Department. The camp offered health check-ups and expert consultations, reflecting a holistic approach to workers’ well-being.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Himani Jerath delivered the vote of thanks and utilized the platform to spread awareness about the newly introduced labour codes. She urged workers to stay informed about their legal rights and protections and to take active interest in understanding labour reforms.
