JUNE 09: The All J&K Megh Sabha organized a magnificent Shobha Yatra in honor of Sadguru Kabir Das Ji Maharaj, marking the 627th Prakash Divas. The event, held in Old Rehari, Jammu, drew thousands of devotees from various parts of the city and neighboring areas.
The grand religious procession began early in the morning at 7:00 AM from the Sabha Complex in Old Rehari and was flagged off by Narinder Datt, President of the Sabha. The Yatra followed a vibrant route, passing through key city areas including Rehari Chungi, KC Chowk, Jewel Chowk, Amphalla Chowk, Panjtirthi, Kacchi Chowni, and Exchange Road, before returning to its starting point at Sabha Bhawan.
The streets of Jammu came alive with spiritual energy as devotees marched alongside a long cavalcade of decorated cars, bikes, and Jhankis (tableaux) showcasing the teachings and life events of Sant Kabir Das Ji. The atmosphere was marked by devotional singing, chants, and a deep sense of unity and reverence.
In light of the high summer temperatures, the Sabha opted to begin the procession in the early hours. Narinder Datt emphasized that the Shobha Yatra aimed to raise awareness about the upcoming 627th Prakash Divas celebration, which will be formally observed on June 11, 2025, at the Sabha Bhawan, Rehari. He extended an open invitation to people from all communities to attend the main event, which is set to commence at 11:00 AM.
The highlight of the June 11 celebration will be the presence of Mahant Ajay Dass from Tata Nagar, Jharkhand, who will grace the occasion as a special guest.
Prominent members of the Sabha and community leaders, including Ram Lal Bhagat, Rajinder Bhagat, Amar Nath Bhagat, Ravi Kant, Ashok Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Paramveer Bhagat, Vinod Kumar, Vishal Bhagat, Promila Devi, and Veena Devi, participated in the procession.
The event reflected the spiritual unity and devotion of the community, reinforcing Sant Kabir Das Ji’s enduring message of peace, equality, and social harmony.
