DC Samba reviews progress of works under SBM-G

SAMBA, OCTOBER 25: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today reviewed the progress of works taken under Swachh Bharat Mission here at a meeting in DC office complex.

ACP, XEN REW, DPO and Nodal officer SBM, BDOS along with scrap dealers of district samba attended the meeting.

After reviewing the status of works, the DC emphasized upon the executing agencies to expedite the tendering process and allotment. She directed for completion of all pending works within the stipulated time frame.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to sensitize the people regarding segregation of solid and wet waste for better waste management. She asked the officers to explain to people in detail the importance of segregation of solid and wet waste in their homes.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to act on a multi dimensional strategy, roping in all government departments, to provide the people the facility of collection of household waste materials at their doorsteps.

All the stakeholders were sensitized about the importance of the issue and further necessary directions were given to the BDOs and XEN REW to ensure that EOI are issued in all the Panchayats by the end of this month.

Further, instructions were given to all the scrap dealers to participate in the tendering process for the successful implementation of Solid waste management in all the Panchayats so that collection of waste material is put in place in an organised manner in the district.
