MARCH 26: Minister for Transport, Satish Sharma, today inaugurated a new bus service from Jammu to Neel Banihal, aimed at easing travel for thousands of residents in the region. The bus service was flagged off at the JKRTC Office Rail Head Complex, Jammu, in the presence of MLA Banihal, Sajad Shaheen, and senior officials, including Rakesh Kumar Srangal, MD JKRTC, and Jasmeet Singh, RTO Jammu.

This daily bus service is expected to significantly reduce the hardship faced by people in the area who previously had to deal with long and difficult travel for their daily commutes. The service was a long-standing demand from the locals, and the Transport Minister expressed satisfaction that the government was now in a position to fulfill their aspirations.

During the flag-off ceremony, Minister Satish Sharma spoke about the importance of this new service, emphasizing its role in improving public transport connectivity. “This service will provide much-needed relief to the people of Neel Banihal, who have been facing immense difficulties traveling between Jammu and their remote areas. We are committed to making public transport more accessible and efficient, particularly in the far-flung areas of J&K,” Sharma said.

He further highlighted that this new route was the third bus service aimed at enhancing connectivity in the Banihal region. “We had already flagged off the bus services from Jammu to Banihal and from Banihal to Gool earlier. This new service adds to our continued efforts to establish a robust public transport system across Jammu and Kashmir,” he noted.

The Minister reaffirmed the Jammu and Kashmir government’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, particularly in remote and border areas. He pointed out that the government aims to enhance mass mobility, providing increased safety, sustainability, and greater convenience for commuters across the Union Territory.

Sajad Shaheen, MLA Banihal, expressed his gratitude to the Transport Minister for responding to the needs of the people in his constituency. He thanked the government for acting swiftly on his request for a bus service to Neel Banihal. “This service will be a boon for the people traveling to and from the far-flung areas of Banihal. It will cater to their transportation needs, making their travel much easier,” said Shaheen.

The launch of this bus service is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure better connectivity, safety, and accessibility for people in the far-reaching areas of Jammu and Kashmir. With improved transportation infrastructure, the government hopes to foster economic development and enhance the quality of life for residents of the region.
