MLA Udhampur West Inaugurates Power Transformers to Enhance Electricity Supply in Jib and Kambal Danga

APRIL 15: In a significant step towards strengthening the power infrastructure in rural areas, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Udhampur West, Shri Pawan Kumar Gupta, today inaugurated two new power transformers, each with a capacity of 30 KVA. The project, amounting to approximately ₹10 lakh, is aimed at addressing long-standing power supply issues in the Jib and Kambal Danga localities of Udhampur district.

The installation of these transformers marks the fulfilment of a long-pending demand of the residents, who have been facing frequent power disruptions and low voltage problems for several years. The initiative was prioritized by the MLA in close coordination with District Development Council (DDC) member Ashu Sharma and former Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) representatives. Their collective efforts brought the issue to the forefront and led to the timely execution of the upgradation project.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta reiterated his commitment to resolving public grievances and assured the residents of continued support in addressing other critical issues in the region. He emphasized that with the release of funds for the current fiscal year, his focus would remain on upgrading essential services such as education, water supply, and power infrastructure. The MLA also underlined the importance of grassroots-level coordination and community participation in identifying local needs and ensuring effective development.

Several prominent local figures, including Raj Kumari (Ex-Panch), Shashi Bala (Ex-Panch), and Purshotam (Ex-Panch), were present at the event and lauded the MLA’s efforts in bringing tangible change to the area. The local residents expressed gratitude and optimism that this development would mark a new beginning for reliable electricity supply and improved living conditions.
