The special drive witnessed the active participation of a team of senior officials including Tehsildar RS Pura, Chander Shekhar; ARTO Jammu, Mohammad Saleem; SHO Police Station RS Pura, Ravi Singh Parihar; and Motor Vehicle Inspector Azad Hussain. They were accompanied by their respective departmental teams who conducted on-ground checks and verifications.

During the course of the drive, around 250 vehicles were stopped and checked for various documents and safety compliance measures. The officers scrutinized licenses, registration papers, insurance documents, pollution certificates, and the physical fitness of vehicles. As a result of the thorough inspections, 52 vehicles were challaned for multiple violations such as driving without a valid license, lack of proper documentation, overloading, not wearing seat belts or helmets, and other infractions under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Moreover, 7 vehicles were seized on the spot for serious violations, including gross overloading, non-registration, and tampering of vehicle documents. These vehicles were taken into custody pending further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.

The total expected revenue from the challans is estimated at ₹1,27,700. The authorities emphasized that such enforcement drives will be carried out routinely to deter habitual offenders and ensure the safety of road users.

Speaking on the occasion, officials stated that the initiative is part of a larger campaign to instill discipline among commuters and curb the rising trend of traffic violations. They also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and abide by the traffic norms for their own safety and that of others.

The joint drive reflects the administration’s firm commitment to improving road safety and streamlining vehicular movement in the RS Pura area. It sends a clear message that violations will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against those who flout the law.
