JUNE 03: Chief Secretary Atul Dulloo conducted a comprehensive review of the implementation of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing the need for robust inter-departmental collaboration and the adoption of best practices to accelerate infrastructure development across the Union Territory.
During the high-level review meeting, it was revealed that Jammu and Kashmir has made significant progress under the ambitious initiative. A total of 624 data layers have been successfully integrated into the digital infrastructure planning portal, providing a unified platform for planning, monitoring, and execution of major development projects. Moreover, 50 key infrastructure projects have already been mapped on the Gati Shakti portal, showcasing the UT’s commitment to streamlining infrastructure development.
Atul Dulloo reiterated the importance of embracing the “One Nation, One Master Plan” vision, which lies at the core of the PM Gati Shakti initiative. He stated that aligning departmental plans with this national framework would result in better synchronization, reduced project delays, and more efficient use of resources.
The Chief Secretary highlighted that departments must not operate in isolation and instead foster a culture of information sharing and strategic coordination. He encouraged all departments to continue uploading relevant spatial and non-spatial data to the GIS-based platform, which serves as a central tool for informed decision-making and long-term planning.
The meeting also focused on removing logistical and procedural bottlenecks by leveraging real-time data for effective execution. Officials were directed to identify priority projects and align them with the holistic infrastructure development plan that supports economic corridors, multimodal connectivity, and regional integration.
With J&K emerging as one of the leading regions in adopting the PM Gati Shakti framework, Dulloo called for further capacity building and regular inter-agency reviews to sustain the momentum. He also stressed the importance of using technology-driven approaches to track performance and progress at micro and macro levels.
The PM Gati Shakti initiative, launched by the Government of India, aims to revolutionize infrastructure planning and development through a unified, technology-backed approach—ensuring faster, more coordinated, and more sustainable growth.
