JULY 18: Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth visited the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex of DRDO in Hyderabad on July 16–17, 2025. During the two-day visit, he reviewed the progress of key missile and weapon systems under development at the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), Research Centre Imarat (RCI), and Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL)—the three premier missile cluster labs of DRDO.

At DRDL, the Minister inspected various work centres, including the Astra Mk I and Mk II missile systems, the Vertically-Launched Short-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (VL-SRSAM), and Scramjet Engine development facilities. He was briefed by Distinguished Scientist and Director General (Missiles and Strategic Systems), Shri U. Raja Babu, and DRDL Director, Shri G. A. Shri Sanjay Seth also visited critical divisions at RCI, where Director Shri Anindya Biswas detailed the progress made in Indigenous Navigation and Aviation Systems, the Onboard Computer Division, and the development of the Imaging Infra-Red Seeker—key components in India’s missile and aerospace systems.

The Minister expressed appreciation for DRDO scientists’ contributions to national defence and self-reliance, aligning with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He praised their innovation and dedication in delivering cutting-edge systems that are crucial for strengthening India’s Armed Forces.

He encouraged the scientific teams to remain focused on strategic capabilities and to continue advancing India’s indigenous defence manufacturing to address current and future security challenges.
