SEP 11: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban and District Election Officer, Mohammad Alyas Khan, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak and senior officers of the district administration, carried out an extensive visit to the three blocks of Sub-Division Gool to take stock of the situation arising after heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides that recently hit the region.
During the visit, the DC personally reviewed the restoration of essential services, including road connectivity, electricity, water supply, and communication facilities, which were disrupted due to the natural calamity. He also assessed the extent of damages to public infrastructure, private property, and agricultural fields, which have severely impacted local livelihoods.
The district administration has intensified relief and rehabilitation measures to ensure immediate assistance to the affected families. Essential supplies, temporary shelter, and medical aid are being provided to those displaced or impacted by the heavy rains. The DC directed concerned departments and field officers to accelerate restoration works on war footing and to remain accessible to the public for timely redressal of grievances.
DC Khan assured the people that the administration is fully committed to supporting affected communities and that every possible step is being taken to mitigate their hardships. He emphasized coordination between different departments and local representatives to ensure equitable and efficient distribution of relief.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with locals, listened to their concerns, and assured them that comprehensive damage assessment reports will be prepared for early compensation and rehabilitation.
The visit reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Ramban in these testing times.
