Govt Attaches In-Charge CEO Baramulla; Inquiry Ordered by School Education Department

OCT 07: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has attached the in-charge Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Shah, to the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) pending an inquiry into certain official matters.

According to an order issued by the School Education Department, the decision has been taken as a preventive administrative measure while an investigation is underway. The order states, “Pending inquiry, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Shah, In-charge Chief Education Officer, Baramulla, is hereby attached with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir with immediate effect.”

In the interim, the Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, has been assigned additional charge of the office of CEO Baramulla and Principal, DIET Sopore, Baramulla, until further directions are issued by the department.

To ensure a transparent and time-bound investigation, the Joint Director Education (North), Kashmir, has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer. He has been directed to conduct a detailed probe into the matter and submit his findings to the Administrative Department within 15 days.

The Government reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining integrity, discipline, and transparency in public administration. It emphasized that while the welfare of both the general public and government employees remains a priority, any official found involved in unauthorized administrative activities or misuse of position will face strict disciplinary action as per established rules and procedures.

This action underscores the administration’s zero-tolerance policy toward irregularities in governance and its focus on accountability across departments.
