Dec 11: The ongoing Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 witnessed an inspiring address by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, who reaffirmed that the event reflects the true essence of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. Speaking during his visit to the grand cultural festival in Varanasi, he emphasized that the Sangamam continues to strengthen the deep civilizational bond between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.

Shri Chaudhary noted that the initiative exemplifies India’s unity through diversity. “The Kashi Tamil Sangamam brings two ancient traditions even closer. It reflects the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,’ where India’s rich diversity becomes a unifying force,” he said.

Showcasing India’s Civilizational Heritage

The fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, which began on 2 December 2025, celebrates centuries-old cultural, linguistic and spiritual ties. Shri Chaudhary highlighted how the programme aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who has consistently championed cultural preservation and national integration.

Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, Kashi has transformed into a vibrant cultural nucleus. “This renewed bond with Tamil Nadu strengthens the idea that India’s cultural unity is deeply rooted in its diversity. India’s rich heritage is being proudly showcased, and traditions are being carried forward with confidence and pride,” he added.

Theme ‘Learn Tamil – Tamil Karkalam’ Gains Wide Appreciation

Shri Jayant Chaudhary praised this year’s theme, “Learn Tamil – Tamil Karkalam,” noting that India’s diverse languages foster deeper connections among people. He said such initiatives promote respect, youth dialogue, and nationwide collaboration.

During his visit, he witnessed a variety of:

  • Cultural performances

  • Folk dances

  • Traditional arts

  • Handicraft exhibitions

  • Language learning workshops

  • Student exchange programmes

He lauded the enthusiasm of youth participating from Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, acknowledging their role in strengthening cultural understanding.

Major Highlights of KTS 4.0

Organised by the Ministry of Education and coordinated by IIT Madras and BHU, this year’s Sangamam features several landmark initiatives spreading the essence of Tamil culture across Uttar Pradesh:

  • Sage Agasthya Vehicle Expedition from Tenkasi to Kashi

  • Deployment of 50 Tamil teachers in Varanasi schools

  • Tamil learning study tours for students of Uttar Pradesh

  • Visits to historic Tamil heritage sites in Varanasi

The event has brought together over 1,400 delegates from seven diverse groups—students, teachers, women, artisans, media professionals, spiritual scholars and working professionals—making it one of the largest cultural integrations under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat framework.
