In preparation for the UT-level Republic Day 2026 celebrations, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti today conducted a comprehensive inspection of arrangements at M A Stadium, Jammu, the main venue for the national event.

During their visit, the senior officials reviewed the progress of preparations being undertaken by various departments to ensure the smooth, safe, and successful conduct of Republic Day celebrations. They emphasised the importance of timely coordination and directed all concerned departments to finalise arrangements well in advance.

The Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu took a detailed review of security measures, including deployment plans, frisking points, surveillance arrangements, and crowd management strategies. Special focus was laid on ensuring a robust and foolproof security framework to safeguard participants, dignitaries, and citizens attending the function.

Traffic management plans were also reviewed to facilitate smooth movement in and around the venue. Officials were instructed to ensure adequate traffic diversions, parking arrangements, and public transport facilities to avoid inconvenience to the general public on the day of the event.

The inspection further covered seating arrangements, stage setup, posters, and floral decorations, which will add to the ceremonial ambience of the celebrations. The Divisional Commissioner stressed that aesthetic arrangements should reflect the dignity and significance of the national festival.

Civic amenities were another key area of focus. The officials assessed preparations related to sanitation, illumination, power and water supply, and directed departments to ensure uninterrupted services. Adequate cleanliness and proper lighting inside and around the stadium were highlighted as essential components of the overall arrangements.

To facilitate easy access to the venue, the availability of bus services for participants and citizens was reviewed. The officials instructed transport authorities to ensure sufficient and well-coordinated transport facilities on Republic Day.

Emergency preparedness also formed a crucial part of the review. The Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu examined the fire safety plan, availability of medical facilities, deployment of ambulances, and readiness of emergency response teams to handle any unforeseen situations.

Both officials reiterated that Republic Day is a matter of pride and national importance, and all arrangements must be executed with precision, discipline, and a spirit of service. They called for close inter-departmental coordination to ensure that the celebrations are conducted in a dignified, secure, and citizen-friendly manner.

The visit reflects the administration’s commitment to upholding the sanctity of Republic Day and ensuring that the UT-level celebrations in Jammu are organised seamlessly, showcasing unity, discipline, and national pride.
