Ramban: Parchar Rath flagged off to sensitize people about JJM

RAMBAN, APRIL 15: A Parchar Rath was today flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam here today to sensitize the people about water conservation and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

 

The Parchar Rath shall traverse all Sub Divisions of the district involving youth, women, prominent citizens and PRIs to become partners in Jal Shakti Abhiyan: (Catch the Rain 2023).

 

Speaking on the side lines of the launching function, the Deputy Commissioner exhorted the people to cooperate in the implementation of JJM in the district.

 

He said that 88 schemes have been formulated and are at different stages of implementation to provide Functional Household Tap Connections to more than 33000 uncovered families.

 

He appreciated the Jal Shakti department Ramban for accelerating the laying and fitting of GI pipes and construction of GSR of various capacities.

 

He also expressed satisfaction over the achievement of month wise targets fixed in the district under FHTC categories.

 

The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the role of source sustainability of drinking water and said that various stakeholder departments like Forest, RDD, Irrigation and flood control, Agriculture, Education and Social Welfare. The DC urged the people to use water judiciously and facilitate the efforts of the government in providing tapped connection to all households.

 

Among others, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Sudheer Kumar and other concerned from Jal Shakti were present on the occasion.
