A Five-Day Self Defence Training Programme hosted for girls under the flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

JANUARY 09: Department of Social Welfare, in convergence with Department of Youth Services and Sports, on Wednesday organised a five-day Self-Defence Training programme for girls here at Indoor Stadium under the flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

A batch of 50 girls studying in different Government Schools is participating in the 05 days training course.

The training programme was inaugurated by the District Social Welfare Officer.  He emphasised that the specific objective of this self defence training programme is to empower young girls and equip them with essential self-defence skills.

He interacted with all the participants and advised them to regularly attend the sessions to take full advantage of this course. He emphasised that the training course shall be imparted to them by specialised trainers who have rich experience in imparting self-defence courses.

The DSWO also sensitised the participants of such initiatives in fostering confidence, self-defence and resilience among girls. He emphasised that empowering daughters is the cornerstone of societal progress and with such initiatives; we are not only teaching self-defence but also instilling self-belief and courage.

 District Youth Services and Sports Officer Tarseem Lal Singh concluded the event with vote of thanks. He urged the participants to avail benefit from such training programmes.

Staff of the Social Welfare Department and J&K Sports Council were also present.
