A large majority of target killings in J&K have been solved: Dilbag Singh, DGP

Pulwama, December 22: Dilbag Singh, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, claimed on Wednesday that infiltration has been dramatically reduced and that practically all incidents of target murders have been handled.

During a press conference in Pulwama, DGP said, as noted by news agency Views Today, that security procedures on the border to foil any infiltration attempt are very beneficial.

 Infiltration has been checked to a large extent, with some attempts made but infiltrators killed.

He also stated that practically all targeted killing cases have been solved, with just one or two instances remaining in which relevant people have been identified. That pending cases would be concluded very soon.

DGP further stated that a substantial number of charges against drug traffickers had been filed, and over 2000 people had been detained.

He stated that several of them were issued PSAs and that strict action is being taken to combat this scourge.

He stated that formerly, people were killed with guns, but now, they are killed with drugs since everyone who takes it once seeks it out again and again.

“Attempts are being attempted to dump narcotics via drones, particularly in the Jammu region, but every effort is being made to combat this danger,” the DGP added.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in the Tral region, he said he would want to congratulate the people, particularly the young, for rejecting the road of terror and instead choosing stability and prosperity.

He claims that Tral is nearly devoid of militancy and has become a haven for peace. “Youth must continue on this road because those who choose the wrong route never return,” he remarked.
