MARCH 25:Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ansuya Jamwal chaired separate meetings to review the preparedness for the upcoming Eid and Navratras celebrations in Jammu district. The meetings aimed to ensure comprehensive planning and arrangements for the smooth and peaceful observance of the festivals, keeping in mind the religious significance and the need for public safety.

During the meetings, the ADM directed the concerned departments to ensure all aspects of the festivals were well-managed. Key focus areas included maintaining law and order, ensuring cleanliness around religious places, and regulating traffic to prevent congestion, especially in high-traffic areas where celebrations are expected to attract large crowds.

“The administration is committed to facilitating seamless celebrations for all citizens during these auspicious occasions. Coordination among departments is key to achieving this goal,” stated the ADM, underlining the importance of collaboration between various authorities to ensure a peaceful environment for festival-goers.

To maintain peace and order, the ADM was assured that adequate security measures would be in place. Police teams would be strategically deployed at key locations, including religious sites and major traffic points, to monitor and prevent any untoward incidents. These measures are intended to provide a sense of security to the public during the festivities.

In addition to security, the ADM highlighted the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, particularly around religious places. It was informed that sanitation drives would be intensified in these areas and in public spaces to uphold hygiene standards. This would ensure that visitors and devotees can celebrate in a clean and safe environment.

The ADM emphasized that the coordination of efforts from various departments—such as police, health, sanitation, and traffic management—would be crucial in ensuring a safe and harmonious atmosphere during the festivals. She urged all concerned authorities to work in unison, ensuring that the celebrations reflect the region’s rich cultural fabric while maintaining peace and order.

The meetings were attended by key officials, including SDM Jammu North Athar Amin, SDM Jammu South Rafiq Ahmad, SP City South Ajay Sharma, SP Traffic Arvinder Kotwal, Assistant Commissioner General Vikas Dhar Bagati, Deputy Director Information Virender Gupta, Health Officer Jammu Municipal Corporation Dr. Vinod Sharma, and officers from various departments, as well as representatives from religious organizations.
