In a significant move aimed at revitalizing youth engagement in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Advocate Aditya Gupta as the new President of its Youth Wing. The announcement underscores the party’s strategic focus on empowering young voices and nurturing future leadership.

Expressing his gratitude, Gupta acknowledged the trust placed in him by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and the party leadership. He termed the appointment both an “honor and a challenge,” reflecting on the responsibility of upholding the dynamism and integrity of the youth wing. “I am grateful to Party President @MehboobaMufti Sahiba for entrusting me with this responsibility,” he stated, adding that the team remains deeply committed to ensuring that the voices of youth, students, and young changemakers are not just heard but prioritized.

Gupta’s appointment is being viewed as a positive step by political observers, especially in the context of rising youth aspirations and political awareness in Jammu and Kashmir. With a renewed focus on education, employment, and political inclusion, the PDP Youth Wing is expected to play a critical role in bridging the gap between the younger generation and mainstream politics.

The party also emphasized that it aims to expand grassroots youth outreach and make political discourse more accessible to the emerging generation of thinkers and leaders in the region. Gupta’s leadership is anticipated to energize the PDP’s youth cadre and reinforce the party’s vision of inclusive, participatory democracy.

As he takes charge, Aditya Gupta is likely to spearhead initiatives that directly address the socio-political concerns of J&K’s youth, making his leadership crucial at a time when political re-engagement among young people is gaining momentum across the Valley.
