OCT 07: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today conducted a detailed review of the Information Technology Department and NIC J&K, highlighting the importance of cybersecurity and the expansion of the e-Office system to all tehsils across Jammu and Kashmir.
The review focused on strengthening the IT infrastructure, ensuring secure digital operations, and promoting efficiency and transparency in administrative processes. Chief Secretary Dulloo emphasized that technology-driven governance plays a pivotal role in delivering citizen-centric services and enhancing overall administrative accountability.
During the meeting, he launched the E-SAM portal, an innovative platform designed for efficient digital asset management. The portal aims to streamline the monitoring and management of government assets while ensuring greater transparency, accountability, and ease of access. Officials were instructed to integrate the portal with existing departmental systems to facilitate real-time data sharing and accurate reporting.
Speaking on the occasion, Atal Dulloo stressed the need for a comprehensive digital transformation, including expanding the e-Office system to all tehsils. This initiative will ensure seamless electronic workflow, reduce dependency on physical documentation, and accelerate administrative processes.
The Chief Secretary also underlined the importance of continuous capacity building for IT staff and timely upgrading of technological infrastructure to meet evolving security challenges. He called for coordinated efforts between departments to leverage digital tools for better governance outcomes.
The launch of the E-SAM portal and the focus on e-Office expansion reflect the Government’s commitment to modernizing administrative practices, enhancing transparency, and promoting an accountable, citizen-friendly governance framework across Jammu & Kashmir.
