MAY 27: The District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Rajouri recently organized an awareness programme under the banner of Mission YUVA at the Panchayat Nagrota Saldar, aiming to empower the youth and promote employment opportunities in the region.

The event, held at the local panchayat office, brought together a diverse group of young residents, local leaders, and officials who actively participated in discussions on career development, skill enhancement, and government schemes available for youth empowerment. The initiative was part of the larger Mission YUVA campaign, which focuses on equipping young people with the knowledge and tools required to navigate the job market and entrepreneurial avenues.

Officials from DE&CC Rajouri detailed the objectives of Mission YUVA, emphasizing the importance of vocational training, skill development programs, and timely counselling to reduce unemployment rates. They highlighted the government’s commitment to providing financial assistance, mentorship, and digital resources to aspiring youth across the district.

The awareness session covered various schemes designed to support start-ups, self-employment, and skill upgradation, with a special focus on sectors like agriculture, IT, handicrafts, and tourism which hold significant potential in the Rajouri region. Attendees were informed about how to register for skill development courses and access government funding through Mission YUVA platforms.

Local youth representatives appreciated the initiative, expressing hope that such programmes would bridge the gap between government efforts and grassroots needs. They underlined the necessity of consistent outreach to remote areas to ensure inclusive development.

The programme also included interactive segments where participants shared their aspirations and challenges, receiving personalized advice from employment counsellors. This direct engagement aimed to build confidence and motivate young people to take active steps toward economic independence.

DE&CC officials assured continuous support and follow-up activities, promising that Mission YUVA would remain a sustained effort to transform the district’s youth landscape. They encouraged attendees to spread awareness within their communities and participate in upcoming workshops and training sessions.

With Mission YUVA’s ongoing outreach, Rajouri’s youth are expected to gain better access to opportunities, enabling them to contribute effectively to the socio-economic growth of the district and beyond.
