OCT 26:Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, Kashmir’s first-ever Chrysanthemum Theme Garden, at the Botanical Garden in Srinagar.

Developed by the Department of Floriculture at a cost of ₹1.869 crore, the garden spans 100 kanals and marks a vibrant addition to the Valley’s expanding tourism landscape. With thousands of blooming chrysanthemum varieties on display, the garden offers visitors a spectacular visual treat and celebrates Kashmir’s growing reputation as a hub of natural beauty and horticultural excellence.

The new floral attraction aims to boost eco-tourism and draw both local and international tourists, especially during the autumn season. It reflects the government’s commitment to diversifying tourism offerings beyond traditional sites, promoting floriculture, environment-friendly recreation, and seasonal tourism in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Omar Abdullah highlighted that initiatives like Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood will not only enrich visitor experiences but also create new livelihood opportunities for local floriculturists and artisans.
