RAJOURI, MAY 13: In an endeavour to improve the living condition of the residents of border villages, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, along with Senior Superintendent of Police, Amrit Pal Singh conducted an extensive tour of forward areas along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector.
During the tour the Deputy Commissioner inspected construction of bunkers and progress of development works in Sair Makri and adjoining villages.
The bunkers being constructed include individual and community bunkers to provide much-needed safety and security to the residents from firing and shelling from across the border.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the bunkers, the suitability of locations, quality of work, design, and community ownership for maintenance. He also convened a meeting with locals and representatives at village Sair Makri, where the villagers were informed about the schemes of the government.
The villagers also projected a number of issues and demands. They sought the payment of bunker construction, the start of work on the tendered bunkers, the sanctioning of PHC at Sair Makri, and other border-specific
issues.
